about

Kringen | media develops and explores how to create a visual voice for its clients that will resonate and create meaningful connections to their own communities.

As principal, I’ve worked in design and interactive media disciplines for over 3 decades. Art Directing at SEGA’s Southern California division, I trained and managed a team of 20+ artists in the development of gaming environments and animation. As Director, I had the opportunity to explore gaming technologies and the relationship and application of A.I. to the interactive experience.

With the advent of the internet, my focus turned to creating interactive website environments, digital landscapes and brand identities for my clients. My work leans toward the illustrative and is informed by a love of fine art, nature and the color and textures in the world that surround us.

beauty + connection

Whether through painting or design, it is the potential for emotional connection that inspires me. Working with color, composition and texture - exploring and rearranging until something looks right - “feels” right, is a humbling practice. It requires surrender and a willingness to let go. This is a challenge. Although I begin with an aim, a list of client objectives or personal goals, it is important to allow the work itself to lead and inform. It is really more a conversation than a declaration, a back and forth interaction that holds the potential to discover an underlying order, to see something in a way not seen before and to find new meaning and new connections.

It is the process of uncovering and discovering beauty - and beauty connects us.

Something within all of us recognizes and responds to it without stopping to think. It is instinctive and universal, It draws us closer - it makes us feel something by looking at something. - It has the power to reclaim in us a sense of awe, and it connects us to something beyond ourselves and to something that dwells deep within ourselves, simultaneously.

What better goal?
