I like design. The color, the texture, creating order out of chaos, invoking meaning, , but most of all, I love beauty - finding it and creating it.

This has been true since I was about 7, maybe before that, but I can’t remember - because I’m a really long way past seven now. In anycase, my infatuation with the way things look, led me from crayons and construction paper to paint, and eventually to ‘design’. Years later, when the advent of digital media gave birth to computer gaming, interactive design, and eventually website design - my mission became trying to bring an organic aesthetic to a digital world, and I’ve spent the last couple of decades exploring this, working on client projects including logo + identity design, website design + development, print, apparel and packaging.

There’s something about the warm, organic, sometimes flawed nature of a handcrafted object or the texture of a timeworn relic that reminds one of our humanness. Creating this feeling within the precision of a digital medium, can help us to remember that we are more than our technology. It can connect us across a medium that is inherently logical, sometimes cold and often detached . Connection is the goal afterall.

It’s been an amazing journey, one that I am still on …. still seeking beauty and trying to create it wherever I can.
